      43L pack liner

      Bought the 43L for my backpacking trip through the Virgin River Narrows in Zion, a 16 mile hike through a river. I used it as a pack liner for my Southwest 55L for additional margin to keep water out of my pack just in case I step into a sink hole and go under. I put my sleeping bag, camp clothes, and puffer jacket inside it at the bottom of my pack for additional security. The HMG 43L stuff sack is a good fit for the interior of the Southwest 55L and is taller and narrower than other stuff sacks I've seen of similar volume. Inserted into the pack, it fits the entire circumference with a bit of room to spare, and goes up about 8/10's of the way to the top of the fully unrolled Southwest 55. Also, because the 43L is fairly large, there are a few other uses it has once camp is setup: use as additional protection under my inflatable sleeping pad rather than closed cell foam pad, use as a seat on ground/log to keep moisture off my ****, use it as an entry matt in the vestibule of my tent. Quality of construction and taping of seams looks good. Overall would recommend to others instead of a plastic compactor bag for additional margin of water proofing.
